Access to safe drinking water is one of the basic human rights. Major chunk of the population in the Punjab province is deprived of safe drinking water. The Punjab government has accorded the highest priority to provide safe drinking water to marginalized segments of society in rural and peri-urban areas of province.

Khadim-e-Punjab Saaf Program is the flagship initiative of the Punjab government and on its completion in next three years, more than 55 million population in 144 tehsils of the province will have a sustained access to safe drinking water. Further, this billions of rupees program will be a watershed in eliminating water-borne diseases, which added to the financial woes of the rural
populace.

For this purpose, Punjab Saaf Pani Company (South and North) have been established with the mandate to develop, design, plan and execute projects for provision of safe drinking water solutions depending upon the nature of contamination across the province. We have built a new team of professionals, experts and consultants to fast-track the implementation of the program, which is of
huge public importance and has my personal commitment.

As many as 116 state-of-the-art water filtration plants have been installed in five tehsils of Lodhran, Khanpur, Hasilpur, Dunyapur and Minchanabad in South Punjab where more than 350,000 locals are availing of safe drinking water facility while detailed feasibility and survey reports in other areas of the province have been completed. We are inviting leading international firms and companies for the implementation of the project and meet international standards in provision of community-based
water supply solutions.

As public health is inextricably linked to provision of potable water, my government is committed to effectively discharging its responsibilities. Like other manifestations, this initiative will also be quoted as a success story aimed at public service in annals of history. We have a fast growing economy, vast human capital and fast changing lifestyles can only be materialized with the help of mega programs, which will play a vital role in prosperity and development of the province.

Though the task is very daunting but my government is blessed with the acumen to overcome such challenges. I am determined to serve peoples of the province and this program will be completed within stipulated time-frame of April 2018.

Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif

It gives me immense pleasure to welcome and introduce you to the Punjab Saaf Pani Company (PSPC). These are exciting yet challenging times at PSPC. We are motivated to remain innovative in providing safe drinking water supply solutions to the most vulnerable and marginalized segments of society in peri-urban and rural areas, and at the same time, inspiring and uplifting the communities in which we operate in the Punjab province.

We appreciate the ongoing support received from those who are interested in PSPC’s activities and pledge to continue in our efforts to exceed their expectations in providing them level playing field.

I am happy to state that so far our efforts towards the accomplishment of Saaf Pani Program have been extremely fulfilling. For the first phase, we have successfully floated tenders for award of contracts to international and multi-national pre-qualified bidders after a grueling and rigorous transparent process to achieve global standards.

Besides, through our civil society partner organizations, we are building grassroots communities organizations at village level; not only to take lead in the identification of water solutions but also create a sense of ownership among them.

The PSPC team has unwavering commitment to complete this program within the stipulated time-frame without compromising over environment sustainability and financial transparency. We are striving to sustain and build on the remarkable success. This is a beginning of a new tomorrow.

Our scale of transformation is vast; therefore, it is challenging task and we are determined to come up to the expectation of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. Following the progressive policies, Punjab government has very thoughtfully embarked upon an unprecedented service provision program at the cost of billions of rupees.

The width and scope of developmental potential of Punjab are indeed enormous and this program is aimed fulfilling the development dream of the Punjab Chief Minister. This progressive venture will positively alter the ground realities and will lead to socio-economic development of the people. I am thank to Punjab Chief Minister and Chairman PSPC South for their unflinching support in accomplishment of this noble task.
